Projekt \u2018LIFE RESTORE za MDD \u2013 ohranjanje in obnova habitatov poplavnih gozdov ob Muri-Dravi-Donavi\u2019 je skupna pobuda Avstrije, Slovenije, Hrva\u0161ke, Mad\u017earske in Srbije za ohranitev in obnovo najve\u010djih \u010dezmejnih poplavnih gozdov v UNESCO Petdr\u017eavnem biosfernem obmo\u010dju Mura-Drava-Donava (TBR MDD). Obmo\u010dja tvorijo 700 km dolgo neprekinjeno verigo vzdol\u017evseh treh rek. Poplavni gozdovi predstavljajo 49,4 % (435 km2<\/sup>) vseh gozdov na obmo\u010dju.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Regulacija rek, netrajnostne gozdarske prakse, \u0161irjenje invazivnih tujerodnih vrst, izguba raznolikosti, zmanj\u0161anje genetske pestrosti in slabo usklajeno \u010dezmejno na\u010drtovanje obnove vplivajo najbolj negativno na stanje teh habitatov. S temi gro\u017enjami se spopadamo v okviru obnov na 29 lokacijah ob treh rekah.\u00a0 Tam projektni partnerji \u2013 ki jih sestavljajo upravljavci voda, naravovarstveniki, gozdarji, upravljavci varovanih obmo\u010dij, regionalni upravljavci in nevladne organizacije \u2013 ponovno povezujejo re\u010dne rokave, revitalizirajo re\u010dne bre\u017eine in spreminjajo obmo\u010dja z neavtohtonimi drevesnimi vrstami v naravnej\u0161e poplavne gozdove. natural forest rejuvenation on 4 sites. Side channels will be connected with the river and oxbows restored and thus floodplain forests\u2019 conditions improved on 14 sites. Natural forests will be conserved, improved or afforested on 11 sites. Integrative cross-border river restoration planning on 3 pilot river stretches will ensure sustainable results of measures. and Danube floodplains: Priority habitat HT 91E0* alluvial forests and HT 91F0 riparian mixed forests, which are closely linked to and dependent on the natural river dynamics.<\/p>\n These habitat classifications are derived from EUNIS<\/a> (European Nature Information System), a comprehensive habitat identification framework used throughout Europe. EUNIS covers a wide range of habitat types, from natural to artificial environments, and includes terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems. These forests are characterized by trees such as White willow (Salix Alba<\/em>), Black poplar (Populus nigra<\/em>), Black alder (Alnus glutinosa<\/em>) and Common ash (Fraxinus excelsior<\/em>).<\/p>\n All types occur on soils, which are periodically flooded, nutrient-rich and well drained. These forests are adapted to periodic flooding along major rivers. They contain a rich herbaceous layer and are often mixed with other forest types.
