On 5 July 2025, the Balaton-felvidéki National Park Directorate, together with the Kerkaszentkirály Local Government and the Trout Circle Association, hosted the ‘4th Kerka–Mura Water Ride and Biosphere Reserve Day’ in Kerkaszentkirály, Hungary.
A total of 107 people took part in the event, with 12 teams competing in a fun, multi-stage competition combining rowing, cycling and land-based challenges. Along the route, teams completed wildlife-focused tasks related to the UNESCO Five-country Biosphere Reserve Mura-Drava-Danube – one of Europe’s last truly natural river landscapes, where the river still shapes its own bed – alongside puzzles highlighting the area’s cultural heritage.
Congratulations to all participants for their great teamwork and enthusiasm!
