In October 2025, the new LIFE RESTORE for MDD educational programme, created by Green Osijek, was completed after an intensive development process. This involved field visits to most of the implementing partner organisations in five different countries, creating a new handbook for educators across the TBR MDD, preparing supplementary materials and holding three expert-led trainers’ workshops, where the needs, comments and practical insights of the partners were collected. The final milestone of this process was the third trainers’ workshop, which took place on 8–9 October 2025 at the Eco Centre Zlatna Greda.
Led by educational experts Tijana Pavlović and Alice Thinschmidt, this workshop focused on putting the new Handbook into practice. Through interactive tasks and field-based learning along the Ivovac Channel and in the floodplain forests near Zlatna Greda, participants applied theoretical knowledge from previous online sessions in a practical setting.
Having now been tested in real outdoor surroundings, the Handbook provides an adaptable methodology and tools for working with diverse target groups, ranging from preschool children to adults. During the workshop, partners practised activities related to floodplain forests and biodiversity, thereby strengthening their ability to deliver engaging, experience-based nature education across the TBR MDD.
The two-day event aimed to enhance the skills of educators who will deliver the new programme in future educational activities, both during and after the project’s conclusion. Green Osijek prepared certificates for all participating partner representatives. By improving teaching methods, the programme promotes a better understanding of nature restoration, biodiversity and the ecological importance of floodplain forests.
